Thanks for our Daily Bread

O Sovereign Creator of all that has been created, we give honor and praise to you today!  We honor you—Hallowed be thy Name!  We know that you always hear us.  The sounds of your creation do not drown out our prayers to you.  For you have said in your word that before we call you will answer—while they are yet speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:24 We thank you that you have added another day to our lives.  Help us to lead the life you have assigned to us and to [fulfill the purpose] to which you have called us.  I Corinthians 7:17

We pray for those that are with us today and pray that you will bless our time together.  We thank you that all is well with us—and ask if there is any need, that you supply it from the riches of your storehouse—if any have strayed from you, gently return them to your fold for they are your sheep.

We thank you for our daily bread and all the things you have added.  We can only have bread if someone first sows seed.  Help us to become sowers too—to sow mercy, to sow grace—kindness and faith—hope and love that we may reap an abundance of those things that really matter.

I ask that you forgive us all our trespasses as we forgive others—so that we may stand before you blameless.  Now direct our hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. II Thessalonians 3:5  Help us to love one another.   Again, we ask you to bless this food for the healing and nourishment of our bodies and our bodies to your service.  Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God be honor and glory forever and ever. I Timothy 1:17  We ask for all of this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.  Amen.
