A Prayer of Thanks
O Blessed and only Sovereign—the King of kings and Lord of lords who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light—to you alone belongs honor and eternal dominion. I Timothy 6:15-16 Hallowed be thy Name!
I just come to you today to thank you! First, I thank you that you always hear me. The sounds of your creation do not drown out my prayers to you. For you have said in your word that before we call you will answer—while they are yet speaking I will hear. Isaiah 65:24 You hear us!
I give thanks to God always for all of our brother and sisters… remembering before our God and Father their work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 1:3
I thank you that you have added another day to our lives—and that with your help we can lead the life you have assigned to us—and to which you have called us… [We can fulfill our purpose.] I Corinthians 7:17 Every day is a gift from you.
I thank you that our faith does not rest in the wisdom of men—but in the power of God. I Corinthians 2:5 And that you are a God whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of men, rewarding each according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. Jeremiah 32:19 I thank you that you are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Nehemiah 9:17 You do not forsake us! You are our rock and fortress. [scripture]
I thank you for our daily bread and all the things you have added. I thank you that you forgive us all our trespasses as we forgive others—so that we may stand before you blameless. Matthew 6:11-12 Most of all I thank you that Christ came into the world to save sinners. I Timothy 1:15 I thank you that you canceled the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. Colossians 2:14 A debt that I could never pay.
I thank you that all is well with us. I thank you that you have given us psalms and hymns and spiritual songs—that we can sing together and make melody to the Lord with our hearts. Ephesians 5:19 I thank you that you gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. II Timothy 1:7
I thank you that when we do not know what to pray for as we ought, that the Spirit himself intercedes for us. Romans 8:26 Many times I need the prayers of the Spirit. Again thank you! For your ways are above our ways and your thoughts above ours. [scripture]
Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God be honor and glory forever and ever. I Timothy 1:17 We give thanks always and for everything to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20 Amen.
