HE IS OUR SALVATION—Thank Him!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 This is one of the important verses that many of us learned as children. God showed His love for us—even while we were sinners. Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 We are save by grace through faith—it is God’s gift to us. Ephesians 2:8 If we confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that the plan of salvation was finished when God raised Jesus from the dead—we will be saved. Romans 10:9 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 So let us give thanks that He has answered us and has become our salvation. Psalm 118:21 And let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28 For it is indeed an awesome salvation! Thank you Lord for Scripture that shows You are our Salvation!  “Oh God of my salvation—You are the rock that moves me—You are the rain that fills my soul—Whenever life seems heavy—I know You're more than ready—to come and make my spirit whole—And this is my song of praise.” Lyrics—My Song of  Praise by David Huff

Prayer—O Lord! We thank You that while we were sinners—before we were born You gave Your Son to die for our sins. We could never be worthy of such a gift. You have saved us by grace through faith—a gift only You could give. We confess that Jesus is Lord. He is Lord of all and Lord of our hearts. We believe that God raised Him from the dead and that He lives in us and reigns over us. He has become our salvation. We are grateful for salvation and that we have received a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We worship with our thanks and with reverence and awe. We thank You for our salvation. We commend ourselves to You and thank You for all these things. In Jesus’ name we ask You to keep us in Christ. Amen.

HE GIVES LIFE—Thank Him!

We know that God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Genesis 1:27 Then the Lord God breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. Genesis 2:7 Our Lord God is our creator and the giver of our physical life. Thank Him!  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 Not only does our God give us life in this world, He gave His Son so that we could have eternal life.  Thank Him even more! Look to Him for He is the way—He is truth—He is life. John 14:6 And He is the bread of life. John 6:35 We need to thank God always for the grace that was given us in Christ Jesus. I Corinthians 1:4 We know that the Lord is God and that it is He who made us—we are His. So let us give Him thanksgiving and praise. Give thanks to Him—bless His name. Psalm 100:3-4

Prayer—O Lord, we thank You that You created us and that You breathed the breath of life into us. We thank You that you gave Your Son so that we can have eternal life. He is the way—to eternal life—He is Truth—for He is the Word. He is life—the bread of life. We thank You that we are saved by grace. Grace is a mixture of Your tender mercy and Your steadfast love. And we know that it is through the measure of faith that You give to each of us that enables us to receive Your gift of grace. Thank You for grace and faith—both gifts. We are Yours. Now keep us in Christ Jesus as we praise You and thank You for life—and eternal life. These things we ask for in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or His children begging for bread. [Psalm 37:25]

And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. [Philippians 4:19]

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed. [Proverbs 19:17]

Psalm 40:17          I John 3:17          Hebrews 13:16          Philippians 4:11-12

HE SUPPLIES OUR NEEDS—Thank Him!

King David said, “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or His children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25 Although we may be poor and needy—the Lord takes thought for us—to supply our needs. Psalm 40:17 And He will supply our needs from His abundant storehouse. Philippians 4:19 God not only supplies our needs—He gives to us more than we need so that we can help others. If the love of God abides in us—we will not close our hearts and our giving when we see a brother in need. John 3:17 Since it was God’s provision when we received it, it is still His—we should give cheerfully and liberally to the work of God and to those we see in need. In Hebrews it says, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16 Further, “Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his deed.” Proverbs 19:17 When we receive provision from God—we should do three things. First, we must thank Him for supplying our needs. Secondly, we must learn to be content—to live within His provision. The apostle Paul says it best, “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.” Philippians 4:11-12 Finally, we must give back liberally and cheerfully of our abundance. He supplies our needs. Giving back—thanks Him!

Prayer—O Lord—we thank You today for Your provision—for supplying our needs so abundantly. We know that You take thought of us—that You see every need. Now help us to give back to You—what still belongs to You. Help us to give to Your work and to those we see in need. Cheerful and liberal giving pleases You, O Lord, and we know that You see, remember and repay our righteous deeds. Help us that we do not neglect to share what You have given us. Again, we thank You for supplying our needs. Help us learn to be content whether we have abundance and whether we are in need. We trust You in every situation. We pray that we do not neglect to return to You and to those in need liberally and cheerfully. We ask for all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

I Timothy 5:8          Proverbs 15:17          Psalm 101:2          Ephesians 5:20

HE GIVES US  FAMILY—Thank Him!

One of the best ways to thank God for your family is to “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12 Equally important for us is to be Biblical fathers We should not provoke our children to anger, but we must bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4 That is, we must train our children in the way they should go; then even when they are old they will not depart from their training. Proverbs 22:6 Next we must provide for our relatives, especially for the members of our households. I Timothy 5:8  Love within the family is thanks to God for our family. It is better to have little and have love than have much without love. Proverbs 15:17 We love family when we ponder the way that is blameless—and walk with integrity of heart within our houses. Psalm 101:2 We love our children when we teach them the Word—teach them to love the Word. Further, we must treat them as the treasures that they are—but not “idolize” them. We must provide for them—but teach them the value of his provision. Rearing Godly children pleases God. We should give thanks always for our family—in everything give thanks to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20 Thank God for my family. Thank God for families.

Prayer—O Lord! We thank You today for our families. Help us to honor our parents—to teach our children Your ways. Help us to be persistent in defending our children—our families with our prayers. May we have love in our families as You intended. Help those in our families that work for Your provision and blessings to trust in You. Let us ponder the way that is blameless and walk with integrity within our homes—to be Godly examples to those in our families and those around us. Now we ask You for wisdom to rear our children Let our love for them be first expressed in our efforts to teach them about You—teaching them how to apply Your word and character to their daily lives. Now help us to treasure them—but to never idolize them—to provide for them—but not “spoil” them.  Thank You O Lord for our families. In Jesus’ name we ask for all of this. Amen.

“God is more interested in your future and your relationships than you are.” Billy Graham “Four of the Ten Commandments deal with our relationship to God while the other six deal with our relationships with people. But all ten are about relationships.” Rick Warren

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. [John 15:13]

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. [Hebrews 10:24-25]

so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. [Romans 12:5]

I Corinthians 1:4          John 1:12          I Thessalonians 1:2          Zephaniah 3:17

FOR RELATIONSHIPS—Thank Him!

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 Many people take this to mean that a person would die for a friend and it does; Jesus laid down his life for us; but it also may well mean that taking time out of our busy lives to help family or a friend—lay aside the things we had planned to do. That builds good relationships. In Hebrews we are urged to  help each other, to consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, to meet together, and to encourage one another. Hebrews 10:24-25 There is no better way to tend relationships than helping family or helping a friend. God gives much credit to those that are servants to others. Family member or friend—we are all on body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Romans 12:5 We should not only help our family and friends we need to give thanks to God always for them because of the grace of God that was given them in Christ Jesus. I Corinthians 1:4 Our prayer should be that all of our family and friends receive Christ—believe in His name that they may become children of God. John 1:12 We should give thanks to God always, constantly mentioning them in our prayers. I Thessalonians 1:2 For the Lord our God is in our midst, a mighty one to save—that rejoices over us—quiets us with His love. Zephaniah 3:17  Good relationships? Thank God for them!

Prayer—O Lord! Thank You for our relationships. Help us to grant time to our family and friends—they are important to us. Let us meet together—fellowship with each other. May we encourage them and help them as they help us to love one another. Give us a servant’s heart. Keep us in Christ—one body in Christ. Now give us love for each other, faithfulness to each other, understanding, and forgiveness when it’s needed. Give us happiness and joy. Again, thank You O Lord for all of our relationships. In Jesus’ name we ask for these things. Amen.

“The hope that God has provided for you is not merely a wish.  Neither is it dependent on other people, possessions, or circumstances for its validity.  Instead, Biblical hope is an application of your faith that supplies a confident expectation in God’s fulfillment of His promises.  Coupled with faith and love, hope is part of the abiding characteristics in a believer’s life.” John C. Broger

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. [Jeremiah 29:11]

For You, O Lord, are my hope, my trust, O Lord, from my youth. [Psalm 71:5]

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. [Romans 15:13]

Psalm 39:7          Romans 8:25          I Peter 3:15          Titus 3:7

WE HAVE A REASON TO HOPE—Thank Him!

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 The reason we wait on the Lord—our hope is in Him. Psalm 39:7 Those things that we hope for but do not see, we wait for them with patience. Romans 8:25 For He is our hope, our only hope.  We trust Him. Psalm 71:5 He is the God of hope. If we believe this, then we will be filled with joy and peace and by the power of the Holy Spirit our hope will increase. Romans 15:!3 Since we have such a great hope, we must, in our hearts, honor Christ the Lord as holy. We should, at any time, be ready to defend our hope to anyone who questions our reason to hope; but we should do it with gentleness and respect. I Peter 3:15 God our Savior has saved us—not by anything we did; but by His grace! So that being justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:7 Our hope is in Him—for life beyond this life, for eternal life.

Prayer—O Lord! We know that You have plans for us—for our welfare—to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for the hope we have in You and Your promise to give us hope. Give us patience to wait for the hope—for hope is not seen. We trust You—that You will fill us with joy and peace by the power of the Holy Spirit so that our hope will flourish. Give us wisdom to answer those who have questions about our hope in You. Give us, in that hour, what we should say to them—how to defend our hope. Thank You for saving us—for giving us hope of eternal life. Thank You for sending Your Son to purchase our salvation. He is the reason for our hope. In Jesus’ name we ask for all of this. Amen.

“If you want to know the value of freedom, ask people who only dream of having it.” Frank Sonnenberg “Worship is an inward feeling and outward action that reflects the worth of God.” John Piper

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. [I Timothy 2:1-2]

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. [Romans 13:1-2]

Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. [Psalm 118:5]

II Corinthians 3:17          I Peter 2:16          Romans 8:21          Hebrews 12:28

THANK HIM FOR FREEDOM OF WORSHIP

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. I Timothy 2:1-2 We must be subject to the governing authorities. [unless our subjection to them interferes with our worship of Him and our relationship with Him] We know that they and their authority exists because they have been instituted by God. Resisting them, we resist what God has appointed and we will suffer the consequences of our actions. Romans 13:1-2 We should call on Him if we are distressed for He will answer and set us free. Psalm 118:5 If we dwell where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. II Corinthians 3:17 Now live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. I Peter 2:16 We know that real bondage is bondage to evil. So we should pray that creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Romans 8:21  Further, we should ask God to never let us forget that our kingdom is not of this world. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28 Thank God we live in a country that allows us freedom to worship Him; but more importantly, we are free in Him regardless of the conditions imposed on us by our government. Again, thank God for freedom to worship Him and thank God that in Him we are free to worship.

Prayer—O Lord! It’s hard to know where to start to thank You for freedom of worship—freedom to worship.  We know that we should pray for those in positions of authority—that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives. We are to be subject to them as long as it does not interfere with our relationship with You and our freedom to worship You. Thank You for freedom to worship You in this worldly kingdom; but never let us forget that we belong to You and to Your kingdom. We are grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken no matter what anyone does; so we offer to You our praise, thanks and our worship openly without regard to earthly kingdoms. Our desire is that our worship will be acceptable to You; for we offer it with reverence and awe. Thank You that we live in a country that allows us freedom to worship You; but more importantly, thank You that we are free in You—free to worship You—regardless of the conditions imposed on us by our government. May we never forget that freedom to worship in this country did not come free—a dear price was paid; but Your Son paid the greatest price of all for He purchased our salvation that allows us to be free in Him and free to worship Him! In Jesus’ name we ask for all of this. Amen.
