PROLOGUE:
Currents Events are often the signs of the time! Although I plan to mine past events for signs of the end of times, my purpose in this section is to mine current events. I believe that we are living in the end-times so there are currently many signs. These events—things happening nearly everyday—confirm that some of the major events of the end times are beginning to happen now. Jesus is coming soon! His coming is closer than one might suspect. So we can read the sky and be weathermen as the Pharisees and Sadducees were; or we can do as we were instructed by Jesus—interpret the signs of the times—read the fig leaves!
Many signs happened in the twentieth century. Probably the most important was the birth of the nation Israel in a day! Many others, to a lesser degree, continue to happen until this day. In numerous places in the Bible when God sought to pour out his wrath on a nation or nations, sword, famine, and pestilence are mentioned as vehicles of his wrath. We see that all three of these things are happening now or have happened recently. They will increase exponentially as the end of time approaches. Some commentators seem to have a scriptural sign for every event; but I feel that we should have scripture witness for those signs that are ongoing and that we should “read the fig leaves” so that we do not miss a major end-time sign. Just as the Pharisees in Jesus’ day missed the messiah, we, too, must be diligent that we do not miss those signs of great importance.
One thing that makes reading the signs of the end times difficult is that “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun.” ECCLESIASTES 1:9 Although the devices and designs of men may have changed, God has not. So his judgments and wrath will still be the sword, the famine, and the pestilence. These have happened since the beginning of time; but they are now escalating in intensity and starting with the Tribulation, they will be even more intense. These three things are a part of the signs of the times!
In conclusion, current events will be posted in the END TIME NEWS HEADLINES pages without notes. Those events that seem to have greater significance will be posted with notes in the END TIME NEWS COMMENTARY. END TIME NEWS NEWSLETTERS will only be written when an event or events can be connected to scripture as a major end time event.
Signs-Events That are Beginning to Happen Now or Could Happen Soon! These are major events that we must not miss.
Russia joining those that are attacking Israel is a major sign of the times!
The religions of the world move past their current “religious tolerance” and come to a consensus on a one-world religion. In an effort to come to a consensus on a one-world religion, the Bible and Christians will be subjected to further restrictions and atrocities.
The countries of the world move past a global economy and establish free trade for all including one currency for all.
The rise of a charismatic leader that brokers a peace—where there is currently no peace—and he seems to have solutions to a multiplicity of world problems.
There are many more events that will happen before the kingdoms of this world becomes the kingdom of our Lord and His Christ. As we see those signs and events unfolding, I will search scripture to see where the sign seems to fit into the end-time events. While I may look at other documents and books, scripture witness will be the impetus that will cause me to post an item on this site.
I have developed three ways to share these signs of the times!
END TIME NEWS HEADLINES is the first level of importance. Events that have general signs and signs that are not empirical will be addressed in this section. It will be more of a news headlines log than a submission of evidence of a sign of the times. These will be posted whenever I find that an end time news event has happened that is post worthy.
END TIME NEWS COMMENTARY is the next level of importance. In order to be listed in this section these events must be identifiable as having greater end time sign value than normal Middle East conflicts or other similar news. [Although Middle Eastern conflicts as a total are signs of the times!] These events will be listed at the first level then a brief commentary will be listed in this section. These will be posted whenever I find a news worthy event!
END TIME NEWS NEWSLETTER will the highest level. I will only draft a newsletter when an event carries empirical weight that it is a sign of the times or is an important indicator that one is about to happen! Before I publish a newsletter I will search for scripture witness that this is indeed a sign of the times. It is impossible to tell when an event of this standard will happen; but I pray that I will not miss any of these. Again, these will be posted when an event reaches this level.
Although some of these types of events happen in a days time, others may take longer to develop—even months or years; but all, when posted, will be posted on a monthly page! Credit will be given for the news stories; but no web link will be given!
